HELP FOR BURUNDI

THE REFUGEES

Burundi is seeing it’s worst violence since the genocide in 1993. Since the president Pierre Nkuruniza announced his bid for a unconstitutional third term in office, police and military have been mobilized to quench a public and democratic outrage. People are suffering, 1000 citizens are fleeing the country every day, many people have been killed or hurt.

Burundi is now one of the poorest countries on the planet, according to the World bank. Many children have lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS. Now, the recent events have made their plight even harder, since many of their caretakers have left the country due to political persecution.

The non-for-profit organization AMAHORO INTERNATIONAL, under the leadership of George & Mukarabe Makinto, has helped orphans and children in Burundi and other African countries for more than 15 years. Rugaba's children, the first Orphan's homegroup, has given birth to a big Children's care organisation UCBUM (United for Children Burundi BW'UNO MUNSI)
